Our philosophy is inspired by ο λαγός ● o lagos ● the hare—a symbol of adventure, curiosity, and bold movement—we embrace a life of thoughtful exploration, where creativity thrives in the balance between stillness and momentum.
We welcome artists of all disciplines who are eager to engage with nature, community, and their own evolving practices. Whether you’re seeking space to reflect, develop new work, or connect with other creatives, LAGO Skiathos offers a supportive environment rooted in curiosity, courage, and possibility.

WHAT TO EXPECT
The residency includes shared accommodations, group meals, and local excursions (depending on the time of year this can include: hiking, fishing, swimming, sailing, island hopping, & visits to historical sites) all designed to inspire creative flow and meaningful connection.

WHO WE WELCOME
We welcome adventurous creatives of all backgrounds and disciplines to apply. We want to be clear - so long as you are serious about your craft and serious about using your time with us to broaden your imaginative horizons - you are most welcome. While you’ll be in charge of your own time and focus, the residency highly encourages participation in excursions, group activities, and communal meals designed to foster connection and collaboration.
ABOUT THE VILLA
Nestled on an acre in the main town, our 1930s Greek villa offers quiet gardens and courtyards, shared accomodations, main saloni, secondary traditional stone saloni, small atelier, and a shared kitchen. During your time with us, you are welcome to use our property as you wish to work on your project and we are happy to accommodate your artistic needs the best we can!
EXPECTATIONS & OBJECTIVES
Residents will present a Capsule Project—a piece or collection that captures their experience—at our Final Group Exhibition at the Villa. This project doesn’t need to be a completed body of work but should represent your creative journey during the residency.
ABOUT SKIATHOS
Named after the plentiful shade given by the island's abundant pine forest, Skiathos is situated in the stunning crystal clear waters of the North Aegean. Skiathos has a rich history dating back to ancient times. The island experienced Byzantine, Venetian, and Ottoman rule, each leaving its mark on the culture and architecture. Today, it is renowned for its stunning beaches, lush landscapes, and vibrant cultural heritage, attracting visitors from around the world.
